Brewer's Blackbird male displayingBrewer’s Blackbird male displaying – Nikon D300, f6.3, 1/1000, ISO 500, -0.7 EV, Nikkor 200-400mm VR with 1.4x TC at 400mm, natural light

A simple post this morning of a Brewer’s Blackbird male displaying that I photographed on a bright day in May out on Antelope Island State Park. Contrary to the name “blackbird” Brewer’s Blackbird males can be quite colorful with the right angle of light which will show iridescent hues of blues, teals, greens and purples in the plumage. I don’t find the call of the male Brewer’s Blackbird all that appealing but I am certain it does the trick for female Brewer’s.

Life is good.
