The Stansbury Mountains

I too have nestled lovingly into this world and climbed its mountains, roamed its forests and sailed its waters. I’ve felt the heat of the desert and the sting of the frost. I’ve been battered by the wind and soaked by the rain and I am always grateful to feel, to see, to smell and hear the wilderness I often find myself surrounded by.

I’ve wandered my whole life and everywhere I have ever traveled has held a wealth of beauty. No, not the kind that gets splashed on the covers of beauty magazines but a far more precious and lasting beauty.

I am so fortunate to be able to immerse myself in nature as often as I do because of my photography. Sometimes the beauty is so profound that my heart hurts and I don’t know why. Or maybe I do. Perhaps it is my concerns about what will be left of the wilderness 20 years from now or because one day I will have to leave it all behind.

All I can do is photograph it, treasure it, love it, and treat it like the tremendous gift that it is.

Life is good.
