Eastern Kingbird on the road to Bear River Migratory Bird RefugeEastern Kingbird on the road to Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge

I only have time for a quick post this morning and decided to post one of the migrant kingbirds I look forward to seeing every year, an Eastern Kingbird. This kingbird was photographed along side of the road to the auto tour route at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge in Box Elder County in June of 2012. The colorful background is out of focus Foxtail Barley.

Both Eastern and Western Kingbirds nest in Utah and quite often they can be found in the same habitat and they are both excellent at hawking insects from the ground or mid air.

Life is good.
