Juvenile Sandwich Tern in flightJuvenile Sandwich Tern in flight – Nikon D200, handheld, f5.6, 1/1250, ISO 200, Nikkor 80-400mm VR at 270mm, natural light

I processed an older image of a juvenile Sandwich Tern in flight from my Florida archives to post this morning.  This photo was taken in August of 2008 at the north beach of Fort De Soto where I could see quite a few of the young terns. Sandwich Terns are found on the Eastern and Gulf Coasts and the Caribbean where they are never far from salt water. These terns breed on beaches, barrier islands and man-made dredge islands.

This is not a tern I would see in Utah!

Life is good.
