After a rainy summer day there were puddles on the dirt roads of Antelope Island State Park and this juvenile Loggerhead Shrike took advantage of a puddle and bathed. Not only did it bathe but it flew in so close to me that I could only take close up shots of it before it flew off to the puddle again.
Puddles aren’t all that common on the island during the dry days of summer and when they appear after a nice rain the birds on the island seem to enjoy bathing in the fresh water.
Life is good.
