I am camping in one of my favorite locations in the world right now, Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge in Montana. The air is crisp, every thing is changing color and the aspen leaves are turning golden. I’ve seen birds and taken images of a Sora and a family of Trumpeter Swans. As I went to sleep last night I could see the stars twinkling and the dark velvety sky. I am very much looking forward to spending the next several days unwinding in the beautiful Centennial Valley.
Life is good.

Mom, it would have to be a smaller motor home to get to this campground, there are 4 dips in the road that would ruin a larger RV!

OK, I definitely need more coffee. Trying again: Red Rocks NWR is on my bucket list, Mia. When do you think is the best time of year to go, particularly for a native Miamian who’s short on cold weather gear and cold weather stamina?
Heather, I would say July because it would be the warmest but be aware that mornings and evenings are always chilly. This morning I saw a low of 14°F! During July it can be any where from low 40’s to mid to upper 50’s. Day time highs would be normally mid 70’s to mid 80’s but it can get warmer.

Red Rock Lakes NWR is definitely on my bucket list. What do you think is the best time of year to go, Mia? I’m a native Miamian and not very cold tolerant, I’m afraid.
Beautiful and serene…a great place to unwind and “recharge your batteries”…love the “related” images, too. I really appreciate your landscape photos so very, very much!!! I can’t be there anymore but can get a glimpse and a reminder through your eyes and lens…..
