Mule Deer yearlingMule Deer yearling – Nikon D810, f9, 1/800, ISO 320, Nikkor 500mm VR with 1.4x TC, natural light

Two days ago when I photographed the Western Bluebirds that I found I also photographed a few of the 100 or more Mule Deer that were feeding close to the edge of the road just below where the bluebirds were. I was surprised to see so many deer there so I couldn’t resist taking a few images. There were a number of yearlings in the herd including this Mule Deer yearling that was on a slight ridge who appeared to be looking right at me.

I didn’t notice until I started to process this image that the sagebrush have begun to grow new leaves. Spring isn’t too far away now.

Life is good.
