Centennial Valley Chipping SparrowCentennial Valley Chipping Sparrow – Nikon D810, f9, 1/1000, ISO 400, Nikkor 500mm VR with 1.4x TC, natural light

Sorry my post is late today! I had a horrible cell phone connection where I camped last night and couldn’t use my hot spot to get on line. About the most I could do was send and receive texts and emails. But I am now camping where my cell signal is more reliable so I can access the net to post and more importantly, for me anyways, check the weather! It felt awesome to be back in the Centennial Valley camping if only for a night.

I photographed this little Chipping Sparrow yesterday evening at the Upper Lake campground at Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. There were dozens of Chipping Sparrows around next to the campsites and road side and I simply can’t resist photographing them or get enough of hearing them singing. They are especially beautiful in their breeding plumage.

I don’t know when I will post again, but I hope you will all stayed tuned!

Life is good.

Mia
