My luck with Short-eared Owls is still on going. I have seen quite a few of them flying in the distance, both males and females.

Three days ago I spotted this male Short-eared Owl perched on a post in terribly low light in Clark County, Idaho and even though the lighting conditions were awful I still had to take some images of him.

The Short-eared Owl was perched on a thick post close to the road and to railroad tracks and spent the first few minutes I was with him on the post looking around, then he dove to the ground very close to the tracks after something but missed. After he missed he flew over the railroad tracks and landed on a grassy mound. More photos of him later!

The male Short-eared Owl in Clark County, Idaho was a beauty even in the poor light.

Life is good.
