Harrier in flight over a snowy fieldHarrier in flight over a snowy field

With a week of projected temperatures in the triple digits I wanted to post something cool looking, something that had snow in it, something that made me feel cooler just by looking at it. This juvenile Northern Harrier in flight over a snowy field caught my eye so here it is.

Temps were probably in the teens when I photographed this juvenile harrier in January of 2010 at Farmington Bay. Ahhh. I am not wishing for an early end of the summer but snow in the field looks rather inviting to me right now.

Update on the Antelope Island fire: It is out, they will announce the number of acres burned soon. I am so very glad that the fire is finished.

Life is good.
