Canada Goose calling in flight over the marsh at Farmington Bay, Davis County, UtahCanada Goose calling in flight – Nikon D200, f5.6, 1/2000, ISO 400, +0.3 EV, Nikkor 200-400mm VR with 1.4x TC at 400mm, natural light

I’ve been spending more time with my windows open at home now that the day time temperatures have been consistently below 90°F and while I sit as my desk I can hear the sounds of the neighborhood California Quail family clucking nearby, adult Northern Flickers calling and their young responding to them plus the sounds of hundreds of Canada Geese flying overhead.

I see Canada Geese here year round but during the summer their calls are not as noticeable so when I hear their calls start to ring out clearly in early September I know that summer is starting to fade and autumn is slowly arriving.  The trees are already changing in the mountains.

I photographed this Canada Goose calling in flight six years ago as it flew over Glover’s Pond at Farmington Bay. I love their calls.

Life is good.
