Flame like sunrise over north beach of Fort De SotoFlame like sunrise over north beach of Fort De Soto – Nikon D200, handheld, f7.1, 1/250, ISO 500, Nikkor 80-400mm VR at 80mm, natural light

When I lived in Florida one of my great joys was to be at Fort De Soto County Park’s north beach before the sun rose over the horizon and to be there even before the first bit of color touched the clouds. I’d sit alone and listen to the waves wash up on the shore in the darkness with my feet in the cool sand and breathe in the salty air. I did that to center myself and often times I’d feel at such peace that I almost didn’t want the day to begin.

Dawn would always would break and the sun always rose and if I was lucky I could witness a sunrise as colorful as the flames in a fire. It was a glorious way to start my day.

Life is good.
