On the last day of May I was high up in the Uinta Mountains photographing Tree Swallows, Yellow Warblers, a bull Moose in velvet and nesting House Wrens, this low light House Wren photo was also taken on that same day.

Even though I like the pose of the House Wren I don’t care much for the quality of the image because of the low light conditions or the cluttered looking background and normally this photo wouldn’t make the cut to be processed let alone being posted on my blog but something in this photo caught my eye.
There are times I enjoy finding hidden faces in clouds, rocks, trees or other natural features and I saw one in this House Wren photo. I sent it to my oldest son but I don’t think he saw the hidden face because he didn’t answer my query. The reason I sent it to him is that he has two Boxers (Harley and Quinn) and I see the face of a Boxer in this photo. Can you see it? I’ll provide the answer as to where I see it way down below.
This image won’t make it into my photo gallery but I like it.

I see the silhouette of a Boxer’s head to the right of the wren’s head towards the top of the frame just barely above the branch the wren is perched on. I believe the illusion was caused by a very out of focus aspen branch.
I saw the boxer before I read your text, but I like the pose of the house wren, too. Double bonus!
I saw it. And hope I am NEVER to jaded to look at clouds and see shapes/stories in them.
Definitely a fox squirrel. They are known for photobombing.

I saw it right off — as a pit bull with its head turned toward us, but I can go with pibble-boxer mix as we have a few of those at the shelter right now. 😉
Even though this shot might not be “up to snuff,” I still quite like it because of the wren’s pose and the good catchlight. The dog is just a bonus and gives a whole “story” to the over-the-shoulder look by the wren!
Boxer is very clear….but not so clear as to distract from bird and branch….
