Family: Trochilidae<\/i><\/p>\n

There are 19 species and 12 genera of hummingbirds in North America. Hummingbirds are small in size, big in character and beauty. Hummingbirds have long bills, they can hover in flight and they are truly distinctive. Hummingbirds will congregate at patches of flowers and feeders. All hummingbirds feed on nectar and small insects. Their nests are tiny cups built with spider webs and lichens.<\/p>\n

These diminutive flying jewels delight people of all ages with their displays, hovering flight, and vivid plumage coloration.<\/p>\n
