They breed from Alaska and northern Canada south to Oregon, Idaho, Montana, southern Minnesota, and Ontario. Spends winters along the coast of California to Georgia. Breeding habitats include lakes and ponds.<\/li>\n<li>Red-necked Grebes feed on fish, crayfish, tadpoles, salamanders, aquatic insects, and plants.<\/li>\n<li>Red-necked Grebes lay 2 to 6 eggs which hatch in 20 to 23 days. Both sexes incubate and they are monogamous.<\/li>\n<li>A group of grebes is called a \u201cwater dance\u201d of grebes.<\/li>\n<li>Red-necked Grebes can live to be at least 11 years
