They breed on the west coast of Alaska in areas with sedge-dwarf tundra.<\/li>\n<li>During the migration and winter they can be found on mudflats, shores of lakes and ponds, beaches and flooded fields.<\/li>\n<li>Western Sandpipers lay 3 to 5 eggs which hatch in 18 to 21 days. Both sexes incubate and they are monogamous.<\/li>\n<li>A group of sandpipers can be called a \u201cfling\u201d, \u201chill\u201d, \u201cbind\u201d, \u201ccontradiction\u201d or a
