Glacier National Park was established on May 11, 1910 and encompasses more than 1 million acres including two mountain ranges and over 130 named lakes. It is located in northern Montana and borders Canada.<\/p>\n
Glacier National Park is a hiker’s paradise for adventurous visitors seeking wilderness and solitude. To many Glacier National Park is known as the “Crown of the Continent”.<\/p>\n
Glacier has over 700 miles of trails, pristine forests, alpine meadows, rugged mountains, glacial-carved valleys and spectacular lakes. Glacier is home to large animals including wolves, bears, goats, moose and to smaller animals too like lemmings, ground squirrels and little brown bats. It is also home to more than 260 species of birds in varying habitat. There are also insects, amphibians and fish.<\/p>\n
