Earlier this month I watched as this adult Bald Eagle flew in and landed on an ice shelf to take a rest on the wetlands of Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge<\/span><\/a>. Even though the eagle was way out on the ice I decided to stop my Jeep and take photos of it.<\/p>\n

It was quiet and peaceful on the refuge and I had the eagle all to myself. I wasn’t in a hurry to be anywhere which is the way I prefer my trips to the refuge to be. The snow and frost covered ice sparkled in the sunlight and the eagle looked very regal perched upon it.<\/p>\n

I know I sat with this eagle longer than other people may have and I was 100% fine with that. This winter I haven’t photographed many of the Bald Eagles that overwinter the valleys or that spend their time high in the mountains near creeks, reservoirs or rivers.\u00a0 Sharing a few relaxed moments with this Bald Eagle was important to me. My feet were warm, the sun was shining, the air was clear. I let everything else go and enjoyed the view I had in front of me. I need to do more of that.<\/p>\n
