When I drove up to Bear River MBR<\/span><\/a> two days ago I went for peace, quiet and the opportunity to photograph a few birds. The first bird I photographed on the last day of February was an adult Bald Eagle in the soft morning light who was perched on a leaning wooden post.<\/p>\n

I had been chatting with a dear high school classmate on Facebook Messenger and taking photos of the sun rising over the valley and the marsh when I came upon this eagle. Me and my friend Dennis both went to the same high school in Germany and our high school mascot was the Bald Eagle. After taking photos of this Bald Eagle I took a photo with my cell phone of the back of my camera to share this eagle with Dennis. Technology has made connecting with friends so easy.<\/p>\n

After a relaxing drive around the auto tour loop and taking photos of quite a few birds I reluctantly turned my Jeep towards I-15 to head home. I seriously considered driving the loop twice that morning because I didn’t want to return home and hear what had happened in the world news while I was out being rejuvenated by nature.<\/p>\n

As it turned out the last bird I photographed two days ago when driving towards the interstate was another Bald Eagle. This Bald Eagle was perched on a snag out in the Bear River. As I photographed the adult eagle it called loudly several times. I wish that I knew what it was saying.<\/p>\n

These Bald Eagles will soon be on the wing to head towards their breeding grounds. I will miss them.<\/p>\n
