From The Wasatch Mountains<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I had a bit of fun taking female and male Yellow Warbler photos yesterday in the high country of the Wasatch Mountain Range on a bright sunny morning. I feel like I was lucky to get this image of a perched male Yellow Warbler at all. The males in this area were so busy guarding their territories and chasing each other around that I actually felt dizzy trying to track them in a willow thicket. They simply didn’t stay still for longer than a few seconds.<\/p>\n

Focusing on Female Yellow Warblers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Later in the morning I was able to focus on a female Yellow Warbler that perched for more than a few seconds at a time. This time of the year I see and hear more male than female Yellow Warblers primarily because the males are singing<\/span><\/a> on their territories and are more visible. I feel fortunate that this female came out into the open several times while I observed and photographed her.<\/p>\n

These Yellow Warbler photos are images of my first of year Yellow Warbler sightings. I took long distance images of a few Yellow Warblers on another trip to the mountains on the 5th of May. These photos are better than those images were because these warblers were closer to me. Even though I would have preferred to have these warblers closer to me than they were I was happy to have them in my viewfinder and to see them in the mountains here again.<\/p>\n
