Last week I took more photos of cute baby Uinta Ground Squirrels while up in the Wasatch Mountains with my friend Steve. I simply can’t resist them. The baby Uinta Ground Squirrels are roly-poly, furry and fun to watch along with being very photogenic.<\/p>\n

These two cuddling baby Uinta Ground Squirrels were too close for me to fit both of their whole bodies into my viewfinder. Their burrow was right on the shoulder of the road. I knew if I turned my Jeep back on to move further away from them that they would most likely disappear into the burrow.<\/p>\n

This baby Uinta Ground Squirrel wasn’t far from the two in the photo above. It was far enough away though that I could fit all of the small fur-ball into my viewfinder.<\/p>\n

It seems to me that baby Uinta Ground Squirrels can look as if they are smiling. I don’t notice that with the adults.<\/p>\n

And this little baby Uinta Ground Squirrel was so close to me that my only option without removing my teleconverter was to take a portrait of it. I didn’t mind that even a tiny bit.<\/p>\n

I enjoyed sharing the baby Uinta Ground Squirrels with my friend Steve<\/span><\/a>. He was as excited about seeing and photographing the ground squirrels as I always am.<\/p>\n

In just a few weeks the adult Uinta Ground Squirrels will go back underground until next year. The young squirrels will stay above ground a bit longer than the adults before they head underground too.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
