When I photographed this wild rose blossom and buds high in the mountains last week just seeing the flower made me happy. I stopped to photograph the roses. I couldn’t smell them from where I sat in my Jeep at the side of the road. That didn’t matter to me. I’ve smelled roses so many times that their scent is embedded in my mind.<\/p>\n

This is most likely a native Wood’s Rose<\/span><\/a> (Rosa woodsii<\/em>) but I can’t be 100% sure from the photos I took and that didn’t matter to me as looked at it through my viewfinder either.<\/p>\n

What did matter to me was that I was savoring nature and the views in front of me. It mattered to me that I was relishing the peace and quiet of the mountains. That I was there to see this rose blossom.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
