Last week I photographed this Least Chipmunk eating breakfast in bright morning light in a willow thicket high in the Wasatch Mountains. I never did see what the chipmunk was eating but I liked that the tiny fur ball was perched on a branch out in the open.<\/p>\n

Lately I have been seeing more Least Chipmunks out in the open as they feed on serviceberries, thistle seeds and scurrying across the dirt roads I travel on out in the field.<\/p>\n

Soon after this chipmunk finished eating whatever it had held in its tiny paws it moved to another bunch of branches to groom its fur. I had high hopes for the photos I took of the chipmunk grooming but I ended up liking this single image the best.<\/p>\n

As often as I see and photograph Least Chipmunks<\/span><\/a> earlier this year I was reminded that not everyone is as fortunate with them as I am. Because of that I stop and take images of them whenever I can. They are hard for me to resist.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
