While I was out walking yesterday, I stopped at a neighborhood pond and saw fresh Canada Goose tracks in the snow. I felt that I had to take photos of them.<\/p>\n

The goose tracks were close to the pond and there were smaller tracks from ducks nearby. The duck tracks were messy and many of them overlapped other tracks. The Canada Goose tracks stood out even though the snow wasn’t all that fresh.<\/p>\n

I’m glad that I was out walking and not photographing from my Jeep or I certainly would have missed these Canada Goose tracks.<\/p>\n

Paying attention to tracks during the winter can help me locate birds or animals I might not have actually seen. Last winter I found Bobcat prints in snow on a road out in some West Desert sky island mountains and I would never have known it was there except for those tracks. I wish I would have been able to photograph that Bobcat but it crossed the road while I was at a higher elevation and I only saw the tracks as I made my way downhill.<\/p>\n

Later in the morning, I visited another local pond and took this photo of two Canada Geese<\/span><\/a> flying in to land on it. The sky was cloudy which helped to lend a high key effect to this image. I know that high key photos are not everyone’s favorite but I enjoy them immensely. I love it when I can take high key images.<\/p>\n

Fresh snow fell here overnight and I hope to be able to get out to play and photograph in it as soon as the sun comes up. I wish you all could join me!<\/p>\n
