This morning I am sharing some photos of the mammals I loved finding, seeing, photographing and having in my viewfinder in 2022. As 2022 winds down taking a look back has made me smile.<\/p>\n

*Wow, did I mess up my title on this post, I said these were taken in 2023! Who knew I could take photos in the future? LOLOL<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\"AmericanAmerican Badger in profile<\/span><\/p>\n

In October I had a blast photographing a roadside American Badger high in the Wasatch Mountains. The badger was near its burrow and was very cooperative. Hundreds of photos of this handsome badger were taken.<\/p>\n

\"KissingKissing Least Chipmunks<\/span><\/p>\n

Two Least Chipmunks kissing each other on a hot August morning high in the mountains were a treat for me to photograph. The chipmunks had been chasing each other around on an old wooden fence post and stopped long enough kiss.<\/p>\n

\"CuriousCurious Long-tailed Weasel on a rock pile<\/span><\/p>\n

In September I was delighted to find and photograph a sleek and curious Long-tailed Weasel at Farmington Bay WMA. The fast moving weasel was found because I stopped to take photos of a Rock Wren and the weasel caught my eyes.<\/p>\n

\"ElkElk cow on a mountain hillside<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of June while I was looking for birds to take photos of a couple of cow Elk came into my view on a Wasatch Mountain hillside. This cow Elk looked marvelous in her summer coat and gave me nice views of her as she walked along the hillside.<\/p>\n

\"BabyBaby Uinta Ground Squirrel and shadow<\/span><\/p>\n

I was tickled pink to show my friend and fellow photographer, Steve<\/span><\/a>, Uinta Ground Squirrels high in the Wasatch Mountains. We photographed adults and quite a few baby ground squirrels. Steve smiled a lot when photographing these lifer ground squirrels.<\/p>\n

\"AdultAdult Yellow-bellied Marmot in the High Uintas<\/span><\/p>\n

Steve was also thrilled to photograph a Yellow-bellied Marmot when I took him to the High Uintas. We found this hunky marmot in June not far from Mirror Lake Highway which winds through the Uinta Mountain Range. I also found a lifer Moose for Steve in those mountains.<\/p>\n

\"YearlingYearling Mule Deer crossing a road in the mountains<\/span><\/p>\n

And in May I was happy to have a small herd of Mule Deer cross the road in front of me in Morgan County high in the Wasatch Mountains. I always enjoy seeing these deer.<\/p>\n

I photographed other mammals in 2022 but these were a few that I wanted to highlight and share as 2023 approaches. I can barely wait to see what wildlife 2023 brings.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
