I spent a little bit of time yesterday taking American Robin photos on frosty grass. The robins were feasting on ripe crabapples that have fallen to the ground.<\/p>\n

A few weeks ago, I photographed the American Robins devouring crabapples when there was a thick layer of snow on the ground. Yesterday morning there was very little snow; instead, the grass was frosty. This photo shows crabapples on the ground in front of the robin.<\/p>\n

I sat in my Jeep and used it as a mobile blind to photograph the robins in this urban park. The dark area in the background in these last four photos is a road that runs through the park.<\/p>\n

I like how the dark background highlights the red breast of these robins and how the frosty grasses anchor each of the images.<\/p>\n

The American Robins were so interested in feeding on the crabapples that they ignored my presence. The robins needed the calories that they gain from these fruits after the long, cold night.<\/p>\n

I’ve mentioned before that I have a strong connection to American Robins<\/span><\/a> that started when I was just a little girl because I watched a pair of robins rear their young in a tree in my yard. No matter how abundant they are, American Robins will always hold a special place in my heart because of those childhood memories.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
