A brief post this morning about a fluffed up male Black-chinned Hummingbird photographed in Morgan County high up in the Wasatch Mountains.<\/p>\n

\"FluffedFluffed up male Black-chinned Hummingbird in the mountains \u2013 Nikon D500, f6.3, 1\/1250, ISO 400, Nikkor 500mm VR with 1.4x TC, natural light<\/span><\/p>\n

I photographed this hummingbird last year with my friend and fellow photographer, Steve Creek<\/span><\/a>, on the 2nd of June. We had this male all to ourselves and we both enjoyed having him in our viewfinders. The purple of his gorget never did show the iridescence well but that didn’t matter, too much.<\/p>\n

I can’t recall if this was a lifer bird for Steve but his excitement about all the birds and wildlife we saw that day was contagious. I loved hearing the excitement in his voice and showing him around my neck of the woods, or better yet, mountainous forests. It was a great morning with terrific company.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
