I say &#8216;used to&#8217; because last year, that gorgeous old tree was chopped down by the city. I don&#8217;t know why; it looked healthy to me, but I am not an arborist, and there could have been issues with the tree. Thankfully, the city did replace the trees they cut down with new ones.<\/p>\n<p>I adore kingfishers, partly because of their appearance, their spunky attitudes, and because they are challenging to photograph.<\/p>\n<p>When I was down at this pond three days ago, I had a female <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Belted_kingfisher\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Belted Kingfisher<\/span><\/a> fly by. She reminded me that I had never shared this male kingfisher photo I took and edited one year ago today. It isn&#8217;t just for my galleries, though. I also use it to store photos I&#8217;ve edited that I plan on or might want to share here on my site. This morning, that folder had 868 photo files in it.<\/p>\n<p>You can see why I never run out of photos to share here.<\/p>\n<p>Now that I&#8217;ve added this image to my photo galleries and used it here, it will be deleted from this folder but copied over to a separate &#8216;Belted Kingfisher&#8217; gallery folder. It will also be copied to a folder I call &#8216;blog-posted&#8217;, which I use to keep track of what I have shared in my daily posts. All the images in my folders are alphabetized by species or location to make it easy for me to locate them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"flex flex-grow flex-col max-w-full\">\n<div class=\"min-h-[20px] text-message flex flex-col items-start gap-3 whitespace-pre-wrap break-words [.text-message+&amp;]:mt-5 overflow-x-auto\" data-message-author-role=\"assistant\" data-message-id=\"3aa924f1-fc23-417a-a5be-d1e1ddb74690\">\n<div class=\"markdown prose w-full break-words dark:prose-invert light\">\n<p>I have excellent memory recall, which includes what I see. That is how I &#8216;saw&#8217; this kingfisher photo in the folder in my mind when the female kingfisher was in view. This kingfisher image is in the middle of the bottom row.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flex flex-grow flex-col max-w-full\">\n<div class=\"min-h-[20px] text-message flex flex-col items-start gap-3 whitespace-pre-wrap break-words [.text-message+&amp;]:mt-5 overflow-x-auto\" data-message-author-role=\"assistant\" data-message-id=\"dc1ac916-e3a1-494c-9ab9-47443a8f83e9\">\n<div class=\"markdown prose w-full break-words dark:prose-invert light\">\n<p>Anyhow, I thought including this screenshot might be of interest to part of my photo storage\/filing system for other photographers. My original image files are stored by year, date, and location on external drives. I don&#8217;t use a photo file organizing program, I use my memory.<\/p>\n<p>I never, ever store original files on my computer hard drive.
