\"GoldenGolden Eagle in flight over Box Elder County<\/span><\/p>\n

I have had so many opportunities with Golden Eagles and each time something goes wrong.<\/p>\n

The bird takes flight before I can raise my lens.<\/p>\n

The bird is too far away.<\/p>\n

The bird is sitting on the ugliest man made perch ever and doesn’t fly even after a half an hour of sitting in a vehicle along side what can be very busy country roads.<\/p>\n

I don’t see the Golden Eagle soon enough and it flies over my head before I know it and all I see is its shadow.<\/p>\n

I’ve seen great action between a Golden Eagle and two Common Ravens fighting over a kill but couldn’t stop because of too much road traffic.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest reasons I miss “Golden” opportunities with these eagles is that I most often find them in the<\/em> worst lighting conditions where they are strongly back lit because I am facing into the sun.<\/p>\n

Or I get a great pose, the light isn’t bad… and the bird is facing away. (see above)<\/p>\n

Maybe one time I will find a Golden Eagle in sweet light, a fantastic pose with great eye contact.<\/p>\n

Someday I will get the Golden Eagle images I keep dreaming of.<\/p>\n
