I took these photos of a Fox Squirrel when the squirrel came in to enjoy a nice drink of water at my friend Steve’s Creek’s bird bath<\/span><\/a> in his yard in Arkansas.<\/p>\n

I was thrilled to have this squirrel so close that I could capture close-up portraits of it as it sipped water from the bird bath. Watching the squirrel through my viewfinder was a delight. The squirrel kept an eye on Steve and I as we sat quietly on his deck.<\/p>\n

I know some people don’t like squirrels, and truthfully, they can make a mess at bird feeders, but I really enjoy watching them. They can be so much fun and their playful antics often make me laugh out loud.<\/p>\n

This Fox Squirrel was focused on quenching their thirst, no funny antics, just a squirrel being a squirrel. I love the reflections of the trees and Steve’s home in the squirrels eyes.<\/p>\n

I’m hoping I will have many more opportunities with these Fox Squirrels and perhaps even the Southern Flying Squirrels in the months to come. I haven’t seen a flying squirrel since I left Virginia in 2001.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
