On one of my recent trips to Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge<\/span><\/a>, I had the pleasure of photographing a White-tailed Deer doe as she grazed in a cut wheat field.<\/p>\n

The light was gorgeous, and so was this doe. The cut wheat stubble and the deer glowed in the morning light.<\/p>\n

There were two does in the field, but I focused on the closer doe because she was in the best light. The other doe was in a shadowed part of the field.<\/p>\n

This doe seemed to keep her eyes on me and Steve Creek<\/span><\/a> as we used his truck as a mobile blind. I don’t think she was overly concerned about us, though I understand why she might have been cautious.<\/p>\n

She kept right on grazing, though.<\/p>\n

This last photo of the White-tailed Deer doe made me laugh out loud when I saw what was happening through my viewfinder, and I laughed again when I reviewed my images on my laptop screen.<\/p>\n

Any time I have White-tailed Deer in my viewfinder is fun; taking photos of them is an added bonus. The only time I saw White-tailed Deer when I lived out west was in Montana, and that wasn’t often enough for me!<\/p>\n

White-tailed Deer seem daintier to me than Mule Deer, but I have always enjoyed seeing and photographing both species.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
