Who knew that I’d be taking Carolina Wren photos yesterday? I didn’t, even though I’ve been seeing or hearing them daily here. They have just been too skittish.<\/p>\n

The Carolina Wrens have been trying to come into Steve Creek’s feeders<\/span><\/a> but the nesting bluebirds dive bomb them whenever they do. So I understand why the wrens have been skittish, I just wish they weren’t.<\/p>\n

I adore these wrens.<\/p>\n

When I lived in Virginia, I had a terracotta nesting bottle hanging under a flower box at my kitchen window. The Carolina Wrens that nested there many times a year would pop out of the nest when I did dishes and scold me at times. They often raised several broods a season, so I don’t think I bothered them much.<\/p>\n

Hearing this wren species songs<\/span><\/a> and calls<\/span><\/a> brings a smile to my lips every single time.<\/p>\n

Anyway, yesterday morning I saw a Carolina Wren fly in and look around for the dive-bombing bluebirds. When the wren didn’t see the bluebirds, it moved from north to south and landed on a vine.<\/p>\n

I was so excited that I kept my finger pressed on the shutter button, which meant I took quite a few photos. I wanted every one of them.<\/p>\n

I’ve taken photos of this wren species before with both film and digital cameras. I have some images I took in Florida, but my flash fired, and I didn’t like them as much as I would have liked. Until yesterday, this wren species was a nemesis for me.<\/p>\n

Now, they aren’t. I hope to take many more images of Carolina Wrens soon.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
