This morning, I’m sharing two White Water Lily images I took last month at Charleston Lake Park in Franklin County, Arkansas. I love these pretty water lilies.<\/p>\n

I hadn’t photographed water lilies since I left Florida in 2009. That is a long, long time to miss having these aquatic flowers in my viewfinder, it was way too long.<\/p>\n

My friend and wildlife photographer Steve Creek<\/span><\/a> had taken me to Charleston Lake Park to show me where he sometimes photographs birds and wildlife during the winter.<\/p>\n

We didn’t have great light that morning as clouds came up out of nowhere, casting a dull gray over the landscape. Despite this, the park was still beautiful, with its serene lake and tall trees.<\/p>\n

I don’t mind photographing flowers with clouds overhead; in fact, the diffused light can bring out the delicate details of the petals and leaves of plants. So, I paid the clouds no mind and focused on the natural beauty around me.<\/p>\n

Charleston Lake Park<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

has walking and hiking trails, and when it gets cooler, I’d love to explore them. It is simply too hot and humid to do much walking right now. The drive to the lake was beautiful, green, and stress free.<\/p>\n

Although I didn’t see many birds at the lake, I can imagine that it gets plenty of bird activity in spring, fall, and winter.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
