For a few brief seconds, I had an Eastern Phoebe in my viewfinder yesterday. I had seen one nearby earlier and was happy when this one landed in front of me.<\/p>\n

Northern Eastern Phoebes are probably passing through this area on their fall migration. Some of these phoebes might have even bred in this part of the country. I just know I am always delighted to see them, hear<\/span><\/a> them, and photograph them.<\/p>\n

Although I only managed to take 7 images of this Eastern Phoebe, I was thrilled that they all came out sharp and that the phoebe was out in the open.<\/p>\n

Eastern Phoebes look and sound different from the Say’s Phoebes I found and photographed in Utah. The sagebrush habitat where I typically found Say’s Phoebes in Utah<\/span><\/a> was also very different from finding this Eastern Phoebe in an urban Arkansas yard.<\/p>\n

I’m enjoying these lovely birds. Why wouldn’t I?<\/p>\n
