This morning, I’m sharing an American Coot photo I took last year in Utah. What I like about this photo is the coot and the concentric ripples in the water.<\/p>\n

The month was October, the air had a chill to it, and I was walking around the pond with my lightweight 70-300mm lens attached to my Nikon D500.<\/p>\n

This American Coot didn\u2019t mind my presence on foot, but at this pond, the coots are accustomed to loads of people being nearby.<\/p>\n

The concentric ripples formed when the coot surfaced from under the water without any food in her or his bill.<\/p>\n

I bent down on one knee to get this photo of the coot. The coot had been busy diving for aquatic vegetation to eat. After I took a few photos, I left the bird, and she or he continued diving for more food.<\/p>\n

I’ve had this image file tucked into a folder of photos that I’ve edited but haven’t yet shared or added to my photo galleries. I’ve been meaning to share it for almost a year! Today is as good a day as any to share the image.<\/p>\n

Plus, I’ve been having problems with one of my external drives that holds my recent photos. I made the mistake of overfilling the drive, and it has been slow to respond.<\/p>\n

I’ve been working on removing images from it and moving them to a new drive. It’s been extremely slow going, and I was getting tired before I finally picked this photo to share today.<\/p>\n

I will have more recent photos to share once I sort out this hard drive issue!<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
