I\u2019d never seen them before, or if I had, I\u2019d never seen them in bloom and with seeds.<\/p>\n<p>Each individual flower is tiny, and the fluffy seeds? I&#8217;m not sure my images show that glowing quality at all, but I had to try.<\/p>\n<p>One day, I would love to photograph these wildflowers against a very dark background. It is often found in thin woods over sandy alluvial soil, often along rivers or dunes. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/taxa\/164123-Iresine-rhizomatosa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Juda&#8217;s Bush<\/span><\/a> is a rhizomatous perennial that produces white flowers in the fall. It is <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dioecy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">dioecious<\/span><\/a>, with male and female flowers on separate individuals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fws.gov\/refuge\/sequoyah\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge<\/span><\/a> has bottomland hardwood forest habitat and the nearby Arkansas River. The soil was sandy where Steve and I found these native wildflowers.
