Yesterday, I was delighted to see and thrilled to photograph a young Swamp Rabbit not long after sunrise, from the deck of my dear friend Steve Creek’s garden<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

I should state that I am 99% sure this is a Swamp Rabbit. I\u2019ve just never seen one this young before, and I have nothing to use for comparison. Know that I tried Google Lens, which suggested Swamp Rabbit as the result, and I\u2019ve uploaded one of the images to iNaturalist<\/span><\/a>, hoping for confirmation.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t claim to be an expert; I\u2019m just someone who knows a lot about birds and wildlife. If I\u2019m wrong, please don\u2019t hesitate to let me know, I\u2019d appreciate it.<\/p>\n

It was lovely to watch this young rabbit wake up for the day and be close enough to take high quality images of her or him. The rabbit wasn’t at all skittish, or anxious, about two people photographing them, she or he seemed to ignore us.<\/p>\n

It was great fun watching the young rabbit munch on some garden flowers. We aren\u2019t sure if this flower was planted or if it volunteered to grow in Steve\u2019s garden. The tiny purple blooms were beautiful, and the rabbit made the plant seem tasty.<\/p>\n

I kept an eye on the rabbit and watched her or him head into some tall grass, where they stayed until late afternoon. Then, the rabbit came out and started to eat again!<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
