After hiking down to Moonshiners Cave<\/span><\/a>, Steve Creek and I took a quick trip over to Devil’s Den State Park. I’m glad we went; the scenery was spectacular.<\/p>\n

Steve has been there before, a few of his images and his thoughts about the park can be seen here<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"LakeLake Devil, rock dam, and Lee Creek at Devil’s Den State Park<\/span><\/p>\n

I tried to take some videos of Lake Devil, the rock dam and spillway, and Lee Creek from this viewpoint, but the sounds of rushing water drowned out my voice. This photo shows Lee Creek below the dam and spillway and the 8-acre Lake Devil above them.<\/p>\n

Most of the fall color had faded by this time of the year, but I sure loved seeing the forest and trees.<\/p>\n

\"LeeLee Creek at Devil’s Den State Park<\/span><\/p>\n

Down Lee Creek, there’s a suspension bridge where I took this photo. From this viewpoint, you can see and hear the spillway. We had wonderfully clear blue skies and nice temperatures while exploring the bridge and creek.<\/p>\n

As I walked on the bridge, I spotted an Eastern Chipmunk. Although I didn\u2019t get any great photos of her or him, it sure was a treat to see one.<\/p>\n

\"SuspensionSuspension bridge over Lee Creek at Devil’s Den State Park<\/span><\/p>\n

This last photo shows the suspension bridge over Lee Creek. Movement is definitely noticeable on this bridge\u2014I could feel Steve walking, and when I tried to video there on the bridge, I swear I even felt the slight movement from my own breaths.<\/p>\n

Devil\u2019s Den State Park<\/span><\/a> is a scenic natural area located in the Boston Mountains region of northwest Arkansas. The park covers 2,500 acres and features rugged terrain, dense forests, and unique rock formations.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
