Today, I’m sharing a simple Northern Mockingbird photo along with a video I took a few days ago in Arkansas. I’m glad these birds are year-round residents here.<\/p>\n

When I lived in Utah, I didn\u2019t see or photograph Northern Mockingbirds year-round, or very often, actually. I only spotted them during their breeding season and in a few select locations. Here, they seem to be everywhere I look!<\/p>\n

And wow, am I ever happy about that. I sure love listening to these mimids singing away. Hearing their repertoire of other birds’ calls is both amusing and delightful.<\/p>\n

Plus, I get to observe and photograph them up close, almost too close at times. I also get to record videos of them!<\/p>\n

I don’t often see Northern Mockingbirds eating suet, like the one in this video, which is part of why I felt prompted to film them.<\/p>\n

Another reason I was recording video was to test an external microphone and see if it would reduce the annoying noises caused by my hands on the beanbag. The external microphone worked!<\/p>\n

I enjoyed the time I had with this Northern Mockingbird and the others I saw, photographed, and videoed that day.<\/p>\n

It would be amazing to photograph a Northern Mockingbird in a snowy setting, maybe that will happen this winter. Who knows? It just might.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
