My Clark’s Grebe photo graces the cover of the ABA’s Birding Magazine<\/em> December 2024 edition, and I wanted to share the cover along with what I wrote about it.<\/p>\n

\"ABAABA Birding Magazine – December 2024 – Clark’s Grebe cover<\/span><\/p>\n

Photographed in the stunning marshes of the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge in northern Utah, my Clark\u2019s Grebe photo reflects the beauty of these remarkable birds and the rich biodiversity of their wetland home.<\/p>\n

I had driven to the refuge in the wee hours of the morning, hoping to find some spring birds to photograph. I spent a marvelous, relaxing day with them, surrounded by the beauty and birdsong of the springtime marsh. This Clark’s Grebe pair and the photos I took of them were among the highlights of my day.<\/p>\n

Ted Floyd, editor of ABA Birding<\/em> magazine, asked me to write about the cover photo, my Orange-crowned Warbler image featured on the Table of Contents page, and how birding and bird photography enrich my life.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been honored to have several of my photos featured on the covers and pages of the ABA’s Birding<\/em><\/span><\/a> magazine. I\u2019ve even written and co-written a few articles for Birding<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Each issue of Birding<\/em> is packed with incredible information about birds, birding locations, bird identification, reviews of bird guides and books, and so much more.<\/p>\n

Since becoming a member<\/span><\/a> of the American Birding Association, I\u2019ve expanded my knowledge of birds and bird behavior while connecting with birders and bird photographers of all ages. The ABA fosters a shared passion for birds and nature, encouraging everyone to explore and enjoy the wonders of birdwatching.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m always on the lookout for birds to photograph, observe, and learn more about. The more I learn, the more I want to know. I guess it\u2019s easy to tell\u2014I\u2019m passionate about them.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
