Another series of snowy birds from the snowstorm that hit Arkansas last month. This time, a Mourning Dove that dropped into the deep snow near the feeders.<\/p>\n

It was the day after the snow stopped falling. Around mid-morning, the sun came out for a bit, and the dove flew in to find some food at the feeders. The Mourning Dove gave me a cautious look before eating a few of the scattered seeds on top of the snow.<\/p>\n

I was really happy to add snowy Mourning Dove photos to all the Arkansas snowstorm images I had taken during and after the storm.<\/p>\n

The dove was a bit nervous, but I believe that was because of Mockzilla the Mockingbird<\/span><\/a>, not me. If I had an angry mockingbird diving at me, I\u2019d be on edge too.<\/p>\n

Not long after I took the second photo above, the dove got nervous and blasted off from the deep snow. I kept looking for it to fly back in, but it didn\u2019t before my hands got numb and I headed inside to warm back up.<\/p>\n

White-winged and Inca Doves can be found here even in winter, and I\u2019d sure love to have those doves in my viewfinder any time of year. I\u2019ve only photographed Inca Doves here once, and I haven\u2019t photographed White-winged Doves since I left Florida in 2009.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m still hoping we\u2019ll get a bit more snow here before spring arrives. I had great fun photographing all the birds in that fluffy white stuff!<\/p>\n
