It isn\u2019t really spring yet, but I\u2019ve already seen a bee, flies, moths, and butterflies. They reminded me of this Checkered White butterfly I photographed last year.<\/p>\n

I was down in southern Oklahoma then and had driven to Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge<\/span><\/a> in Johnston County on an early June morning.<\/p>\n

Tishomingo NWR has fields and fields of wildflowers. In the spring, those patches of wildflowers were insect magnets, drawing in beetles, bees, ants, wasps, and beautiful butterflies.<\/p>\n

I stopped to photograph this Checkered White butterfly nectaring on a Black-eyed Susan because I recognized this butterfly species. I’d photographed them before at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge in northern Utah.<\/p>\n

I’m very much looking forward to photographing all of the insects and spiders I will be seeing soon. I bet I get a few lifer insects too!<\/p>\n

Birds are and will always be my primary and most loved subjects, I just can’t resist photographing everything else I see while out in the field. I don’t want to resist, why would ?<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good. Birds and nature make it even better!<\/p>\n
