My 1000th <\/a>post was long and contained many images so for my 1001st post I am keeping it simple with a Snowy Egret resting near the mangroves of the north beach at Fort De Soto<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

I liked the dark background which contrasts nicely with the white plumage of the egret and its yellow lores and feet. I could have darkened the background for more drama; and some photographers would,\u00a0but that really would not represent how it actually looked when I took this image. \u00a0I like to keep my post processing to the minimum.<\/p>\n

Snowy Egrets can be challenging to photograph because of their white plumage but in this case having the egret in the shadows of the mangroves helped my exposure of the bird.<\/p>\n

That spikey “do” is something else!<\/p>\n
