Long ago in a subtropical clime with plenty of heat, humidity, and the occasional hurricane, I used to photograph with a small point and shoot camera from Canon and had great fun doing it.<\/p>\n

One day this fair maiden and her beautiful sidekick, Patty, visited the Florida Botanical Gardens<\/span><\/a> on Ulmerton Road in Largo, Florida. After wandering around the garden taking images of flowers, fruits, and the occasional bee’s behind they stopped at the Gift Shop to get out of the sun and to peruse the great things in the shop. There is a man made pond inside the gift shop that is the home to a few mermaids<\/del> Koi and I couldn’t resist attempting a shot or two the inhabitants of the pond. I wasn’t sure that any of them would turn out but when I returned to my castle<\/del> home I found that this Koi image to be appealing to me.<\/p>\n

Of course\u00a0this Koi image\u00a0will always remind me of the adventures Patty and I used to have and the gift of her friendship too which is fun because in Japanese, koi is a homophone for another word that means “affection” or “love”; koi are therefore symbols of love and friendship in Japan.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
