I\u2019m behind on everything, but wanted to share this pair of Cedar Waxwings I photographed earlier this month at Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge.<\/p>\n

That morning I was photographing Cedar Waxwings feasting on ripening mulberries when this pair caught my eye. I loved how they were side by side, looking like they were snuggled up next to each other.<\/p>\n

As I recall, it was a little on the chilly side that morning. I even had a lightweight jacket on to keep from getting chilled myself.<\/p>\n

There were hundreds of Cedar Waxwings in the area. Most were feasting on mulberries or flying between the mulberry bushes and a large, nearly dead tree. I could hear them calling<\/span><\/a> from all over.<\/p>\n

This pair? They were silent. These waxwings stayed like that for more than five minutes. Maybe they\u2019d already had their fill of mulberries. I can’t know for sure.<\/p>\n

What I\u2019m sure of is that every time I see or hear Cedar Waxwings in the field, I\u2019m thrilled. I really mean every time.<\/p>\n

They are such beautiful birds. I love their sweet-sounding calls, and they always bring back good memories for me.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s not to like about that?<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
