To my eye, they\u2019re still interesting looking lizards. They may lay one or two clutches per year.<\/p>\n<p>Once the eggs are deposited, the female covers them with soil or sand to help protect them from predators and the elements.<\/p>\n<p>The young hatch after about 6 to 8 weeks.
