Even though the snow has still been flying in some areas of Utah the Black-chinned Hummingbirds<\/span><\/a> have already arrived. I’ve seen a few zooming around in the backyard, on Antelope Island and the canyons of the west desert.<\/p>\n

Quite often I hear the buzzing of their wings before I see them and some times they move so fast I don’t see them at all.\u00a0I have seen\u00a0Paintbrush blooming on the canyon slopes and this time of the year that is a big attractant for the hummingbirds.<\/p>\n

I have some very fond memories of alpine meadows in Colorado where the hummingbirds were so plentiful they seemed to outnumber the bees. It sure would be wonderful to find another place like that to sit quietly while the hummingbirds float over the flowers creating a ballet of flying jewels.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
