While walking one of the side roads at Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge yesterday, I found a cooperative resting Pearl Crescent butterfly.<\/p>\n

The light was nice, the crescent butterfly was gorgeous, and I wasted no time getting it into my viewfinder. This was the second perch the Pearl Crescent lighted on, and I took a lovely series of images of it there.<\/p>\n

Pearl Crescent butterflies are small, with wingspans typically ranging from 1.25 to 1.75 inches (3.2 to 4.5 cm). My photos actually show it larger than that on my laptop screen.<\/p>\n

I’ve been seeing Pearl Crescent<\/span><\/a> butterflies regularly in both Arkansas and Oklahoma recently, though I don’t think any have been as cooperative as this one was.<\/p>\n

When the butterfly moved to another grass blade, I was able to move slightly to my right and take another series of photos of it on a blade of Johnson Grass.<\/p>\n

It was fun focusing on this small butterfly!<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
