On my trip last week to Montana I saw quite a few Long-billed Curlews. There were some to be found near the campground and on the roads to it.<\/p>\n

\"FlockLong-billed Curlew flock – photographed at Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, Montana<\/span><\/p>\n

One evening I saw a flock of seven near the shoreline of the Lower Lake of Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, many of them were females.<\/p>\n

But on a trip to Dillon using the back roads I also saw a flock of 50+, that is the most Long-billed Curlews I have ever seen in one place to date. I couldn’t get decent images of those curlews because of the angle of light but it was pretty impressive to see a flock of so many curlews in one location.<\/p>\n

I just never know what nature is going to surprise me with!<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
