I almost forgot that I photographed this immature Mourning Dove last month in Arkansas, but I came across the file earlier this morning and wanted to share it today.<\/p>\n

The Mourning Doves in the area still seem like they have nesting on their minds. I see the males chasing after the females frequently. They may still have more chicks yet this year.<\/p>\n

This young dove shows light-colored fringing on some of its feathers that gives it a scaled or scalloped look.<\/p>\n

The dove may have been curious about the sounds my camera was making as I photographed it perched on the driftwood near a feeder. There really is no sure way of telling what was on their mind, though.<\/p>\n

Yesterday evening I sat outside before sunset and listened to the nearby Mourning Doves. I love hearing their songs and calls<\/span><\/a>. They soothe me.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
